With over 100,000 customers worldwide, Analog Devices is one of the leading companies in the semiconductor industry. The company is a global partner in the design, manufacture and marketing of analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing integrated circuits, which is why ProMik is particularly proud of the partnership. Years of experience in the automotive sector empower ProMik to provide high-quality support and ensure an important step towards the future.
Analog Devices' Wireless Battery Management System enables wireless communication between battery cell monitoring chips and battery management system controllers. This provides organized monitoring and control of the balancing current in versatile energy storage systems.
Nodes of the ADRF8800 are located at the battery cells of the wireless battery management system and forward sensor data from the battery cell monitors to an ADRF8850 network manager. This configures the network of nodes and manages the communication protocol. The ADRF8800/ADRF8850 have 40-MHz crystal oscillators that provide precise timing for the system.
The embedded MCUs feature static random access memory, embedded flash memory, one-time programmable memory (OTP), and an analog subsystem that handles clocking and resets.
ProMik supports Analog Devices holistically in flash programming, as well as testing, and in doing so convinces with speed, quality and personal consulting. ProMik's SMART ICT plays a fundamental role in increasing the efficiency of testing, as specific test functions are mapped directly via the MCU, as well as programming and debugging points. In this way, time and costs can be reduced.
These energy-saving MCUs allow edge nodes to intelligently process localized data with only the smallest amount of system power needed. Thus, battery life and the time between charges extend, while the size of the battery is smaller. Thereby, costs for customers are lowered remarkably.
Analog Devices’ ADUCM355 utilizes the ARM Cortex M3 processor core. The Flash Memory size is up to 128KB. Additionally, the MCU offers intelligence at the edge nodes by carrying out local decision making. Therefore, only the most important data is sent to the cloud. Together with ProMik’s High Performance Flash Process, time and costs can be lowered to a minimum, which plays an essential role during the programming process
