With the MLX81116, Melexis introduces an intelligent multichannel LED driver with MELibu® communication, specifically developed for demanding automotive lighting applications. The device enables control of multiple RGB LEDs via a single differential line, meeting the high standards of modern ambient lighting in vehicle interiors. MELibu® (Melexis Light Bus) allows synchronous control and diagnostics of multiple devices – all with minimal wiring effort. Outstanding features such as the integrated LIN interface, high current regulation accuracy, and the ability to control complex lighting animations make the MLX81116 an ideal component for dynamic lighting solutions in automotive environments. The device supports 16-bit PWM resolution per color channel, on-chip memory for custom lighting sequences, and extensive diagnostic functions to ensure system reliability.
